Dengue Is Caused By
Indroduction
Along with the rains, mosquitoes also increased. The fear of the diseases they carry has also started. Dengue fever is particularly disturbing. Most of the time it will subside normally but in some it can be fatal. Currently Dengue 2 type of virus is prevalent. This is causing concern that the platelets fall quickly. So be alert and safe,
Dengue is caused by flavi viruses. There are four subtypes of these: Dengue 1, Dengue 2, Dengue 3, Dengue 4. They are spread by the bite of female Aegypti mosquitoes. A subspecies virus infection occurs during life Fever never comes back again. But it can come with other subspecies. This means that a person can get dengue at most four times in a lifetime. There is an opportunity. It is noteworthy that if the fever is caused by another subspecies virus for the second or third time, it will be very severe.
Does it come from a Infected Mosquito Bite
The problem is that the mosquito bite carries the dengue virus. Even if the mosquito has a virus, it does not necessarily cause fever. Some people may have dengue infection at some point without knowing it. Antibodies to fight the virus may already be present in the body. Even if the dengue virus enters the body, not everyone may have symptoms. Most people can stop with just one or two symptoms. Some suffer from severe headache-like symptoms.
Diagnosis Of Dengue Fever
If the NS1 antigen is present 1-5 days after the onset of fever, it means dengue. IgM antibody test is required after 5 days of fever etc test positive. It is important to confirm dengue with standard tests even if rapid diagnostic tests give quick results. IgG antibody test may be done if necessary. If it gets 1 in the past it floats in this. If it is positive, it means that the second or third round of dengue has come, and this type of dengue can be severe.
Don't Neglect Symtoms Of Dengue
Abdominal pain, incessant vomiting, accumulation of fluid in the stomach, lethargy, enlarged liver should be admitted to the hospital immediately. If there is drop in blood pressure, incessant bleeding, indications of any organ failure (pain in the chest, fatigue, fits) then don’t do neglect.
Dengue can be dangerous for people with diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, anemia, as well as pregnant women, obese children under one year, and the elderly. They require hospital treatment even if the symptoms are not obvious.
Treatment for dengue depends on the condition
For example, paracetamol tablets are sufficient for dengue fever. If there is no vomiting, drink ORS solution. ORS solution should be given along with anti-vomiting drugs. If it still does not decrease..especially in children should be admitted to the hospital and treated. Patients with low platelet count and blood clotting disorders should be carefully monitored by blood tests such as hematocrit/packet cell volume and platelet count, which often indicate blood clotting. Even if you are unable to take fluids orally, if the percentage of hemoglobin in the blood is high, or if the blood pressure drops significantly, saline should be added. Some people have to be treated with a ventilator if they feel tired due to the leakage of plasma fluid into the lungs. Do not attempt to expel fluid accumulated in the stomach and lungs. There is a risk of bleeding. When organs like liver and heart are damaged, they need appropriate treatments.
Pregnant women should take special care during delivery. Caesarean section should be attempted only if necessary as they are at risk of bleeding. As far as possible natural birthing should be ensured.
What happens if low platelet count
When the number of platelets falls below 100,000, one should be under the supervision of a doctor. If the platelets fall below 50,000, they should be admitted to the hospital and closely monitored. If the platelets are less than 20,000 and bleeding symptoms are seen, platelets need to be transfused from outside. If the same drops to 10 thousand.. platelets should be transfused whether there is bleeding or not.
When will you be discharged from the hospital?
• If there is no fever for two days even if paracetamol tablets are not given.
• When hunger becomes normal
• When pulse, breathing rate, blood pressure are normal. When urine is coming smoothly
• When platelets are at least more than 50,000. More than one lakh is better.
• When hematocrit is stable despite not giving saline.
How To Prevent Dengue
It is better to prevent dengue than to suffer from it. Avoiding mosquito bites can prevent dengue completely.
The Prevent Of Dengue is in our hands only. Dengue mosquitoes breed in stored water. So make sure that no water is stored in the vicinity of the house. Coconut shells, old tires and old cans should be removed immediately. Dengue mosquitoes are usually active during the day. So you should use mosquito nets for your bed while sleeping during the day.
Mesh should be fastened to prevent mosquitoes from entering the doors and windows of the house. If possible, use AC without opening the windows to keep the room cool. Wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, socks, and shoes if possible when going out. Apply mosquito repellent creams to legs and arms.
Tablets For Dengue
Paracetamol tablets can be taken to reduce fever. But do not take pain medications (such as Ibuprofen, Analgin, Diclofenac, Aspin). Do not take injections into the muscle, do not take antibiotic, antiviral drugs
Do not unnecessarily transfuse blood, platelets, saline. Drink enough fluids. Take rest.
papaya tablet for dengue (like tab caricom plus) and fruit juices can increase platelets to some extent but it cannot be said with certainty that they alone will reduce dengue and dengue-related deaths. So it is not advisable to depend on them.
Blood Clot In Dengue Fever Is Serious Problem
Blood clotting is more dangerous than platelet depletion in dengue. A chemical called interleukin-6, released in the camel during dengue attacks, causes microscopic holes to form between the cells of the blood vessel walls. Blood thickens due to leakage of fluid from them. Hemoglobin percentage increases. As a result, the blood pressure drops, all the organs are damaged and you may go into shock. Death may also occur.
The real danger in dengue starts when the fever subsides. It is during this time that blood pressure and platelets drop. Therefore, don’t think that the fever has gone down. Just be more alert.
The symptoms of dengue vary depending on the initial and severe stages.
In the first stage..
• High fever that persists
Serious.. As if the head is bursting
headache
Pain behind the eyes
Vomiting, nausea
Tears and pains
Joint pains
Decreased appetite
In the worst case..
Abdominal pain, fatigue
• Accumulation of water in the stomach or chest
Incessant vomiting
Bleeding from parts like gums
Red dot-like spots on the skin
Drop in blood pressure, epilepsy
Cold hands and feet
Restless, unsteady
irritation
drowsiness
• Liver enlargement
The higher the hematocrit (hemoglobin) in the blood, the faster the platelets fall.
How many days to recover from dengue
Dengue is cured when the fever is completely reduced.. nerve speed, blood pressure and breathing are normal Absence of vomiting, abdominal pain, increased appetite, smooth flow of urine, stable hemoglobin levels are all indicators that the fever has subsided.
